President Wraps Up Three-Day Iowa Trip in Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Amid chants and cheers of "four more years," Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama wrapped up their three-day Iowa bus trip in Davenport, Iowa. More than 3,000 supporters packed in to the Village of East Davenport to see the first couple.

The president's talking points included the economy, tax cuts, and education. Obama also spend a considerable amount of time telling supporters he needs the four more years.?"We didn't get into this overnight, we aren't going to solve it over night," said the president.

"I told you four years ago, don't look for quick fixes," he said.

The president's Davenport visit was his last stop before returning to Washington D.C. Iowa's expected to be one of a handful of vital battleground states that could play a pivotal role in determining who wins November's presidential elections. According to RealClearPolitics.com, Obama holds a slim one-point lead over Republican challenger Mitt Romney in Iowa.

The president's visit to Iowa comes on the heels of Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan named Romney's running mate. On the first day of his three-day bus trip, the president very nearly crossed paths with Congressman Ryan at the Iowa State Fair where Ryan had made his first solo stump speech as the VP candidate. Just hours after Ryan wrapped up the president made a surprise visit to the fair for a pork chop and a beer.

As the president's trip ended on a high note, new national polling numbers show him with a 3.5-point lead, though his numbers over the course of the last week have been trending downward while Romney's have stayed essentially the same over the last week.
